We are currently in search of a remarkable Strategic Human Resources Partner to lead our HR initiatives and serve as a pivotal agent of change within The Economist.

This position demands a blend of strategic foresight and practical engagement in addressing business challenges, nurturing relationships across all organizational levels, and aligning talent management with our core business goals to ensure the continued success of our most vital resource: our workforce.

As a key player in our department, this role will collaborate closely with the people services team and senior HR partners to ensure that HR objectives are achieved with precision and care. The HR Partner will also play a crucial role in promoting positive employee relations throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties:

Multifaceted Role: This position encompasses a wide array of HR functions, including talent acquisition, performance evaluation, and employee relations. The ideal candidate should excel in managing diverse HR responsibilities effectively. Conflict Resolution and Risk Mitigation: Cultivate a supportive work environment by addressing employee issues and preemptively managing potential conflicts to maintain a positive workplace atmosphere. Performance Oversight: Supervise the implementation of performance management systems. Assist managers in delivering constructive feedback to employees regarding their objectives and performance. Collaborate with leaders and senior HR partners to execute talent management strategies. Employee Representation: Serve as a champion for employees, ensuring their perspectives are acknowledged and valued. Maintain open communication between the HR team and leadership to facilitate positive organizational change. Employee Engagement: Foster a culture of high engagement and continuous improvement by promoting positive employee relations. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I): Advocate for DE&I initiatives, cultural development, employee wellbeing, and talent growth. Partner with business leaders to ensure the sustainability of these initiatives. Learning and Development: Assess the training needs of employees and collaborate with senior HR partners and HR Centers of Excellence to implement relevant development programs.

Qualifications and Skills

Business Insight: Comprehend the implications of current economic and financial trends on the organization, utilizing this knowledge to shape HR strategies and decisions. Change Leadership: Proven expertise in steering organizational change and transformation initiatives. Active Listening: Demonstrate attentiveness and understanding in interactions with others. Analytical Questioning: Employ insightful inquiries to deepen discussions and enhance understanding of business challenges. Conflict Mediation: Possess strong skills in resolving disputes and fostering collaboration. Global Perspective: Facilitate effective collaboration across diverse, virtual teams. Organizational Development: Align organizational culture and capabilities with business objectives. Technical Skills: Familiarity with HRIS systems and proficiency in tools such as Google Suite and Slack. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; a Master's degree in HR or a related field is preferred. Experience in an HR Business Partner capacity, ideally within a commercial environment. Proven ability to influence and guide senior stakeholders effectively. Experience with HR analytics and the capacity to leverage data for informed decision-making. Demonstrated creativity and resourcefulness in implementing impactful HR solutions. Competence in managing multiple initiatives and adapting to changing priorities. Proactive approach with a readiness to embrace new challenges. Strong verbal and written communication abilities. Experience collaborating with sales and marketing teams.
