Role Overview:
As an IT Support Technician Trainee, you will be responsible for delivering technical assistance and direction to staff, students, and parents in utilizing software and troubleshooting issues related to school IT systems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance in the operation of computers and other IT/Audio Visual equipment throughout the institution.
- Collaborate with the Network Manager to address repair and update needs as they arise.
- Conduct regular visits to various school locations to ensure ongoing support and maintenance.
- Assist in the installation and configuration of new technology as needed.
- Perform minor repairs and software updates in agreement with the Network Manager.
- Monitor and manage the school’s photocopying and printing solutions, maintaining an updated inventory of supplies.
- Keep accurate records of stock levels for various IT resources.
- Follow established schedules for maintenance and support tasks.
- Conduct routine inventory checks to ensure all equipment is accounted for.
- Manage the school’s ticketing system for IT support requests, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Handle IT support calls and log them into the helpdesk system.
- Maintain a shared calendar for booking IT equipment for events and examinations.

Reporting Structure:
You will report directly to the Network Manager regarding daily tasks and any additional work assigned through the IT helpdesk system.

Technical Setup:
- Set up and configure new computers following standard network protocols.
- Provide support and maintenance for Audio Visual equipment, ensuring readiness for meetings and presentations.

Quality Assurance:
- Deliver high-quality IT support within the educational environment.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and safeguarding regulations in all activities.

Training and Development:
- Engage in day release training to complete all necessary coursework.
- Achieve the Level 3 Information Communications Technician apprenticeship standard, including a Technical Certificate and functional skills in Maths and English if required.

Career Advancement:
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there may be opportunities for a permanent position within the organization.

Compensation:
- Pay: £6.40 per hour
- Expected hours: 37.5 per week
- Job Types: Full-time, Apprenticeship
- Education Requirement: GCSE or equivalent preferred.
