Role Overview:
As an IT Support Technician Trainee, you will provide essential technical assistance and direction to staff, students, and parents in utilizing software and resolving issues related to the school's IT systems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver technical support for various IT and Audio Visual equipment throughout the school.
- Collaborate with the Network Manager to address repairs and updates as needed.
- Conduct regular visits to multiple school sites to ensure effective support and maintenance.
- Assist in the installation and configuration of new equipment as required.
- Execute minor repairs and software updates in agreement with the Network Manager.
- Monitor and manage the school's photocopying and printing solutions, maintaining an updated inventory of supplies.
- Adhere to established schedules and perform regular inventory checks.
- Utilize the school's ticketing system to manage and resolve IT support requests in a timely manner.
- Handle IT support calls and log issues in the helpdesk system.
- Maintain a shared calendar for the reservation of IT equipment for various events.

Reporting:
Provide daily updates to the Network Manager regarding ongoing tasks and support activities.

Technical Setup:
- Set up and configure new computers following standard network protocols.
- Support and maintain Audio Visual equipment, preparing it for meetings and presentations.

Community Support:
Deliver high-quality IT support to the school community and assist the Network Manager and Head of Digital Strategy as necessary.

Compliance:
Ensure adherence to GDPR and safeguarding regulations within your responsibilities.

Skills Required:
- Proficient ICT skills and familiarity with relevant software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems (e.g., Windows).
- Strong internet usage skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and planning abilities.
- Commitment to delivering quality IT services.

Training and Development:
Engage in a Level 3 Information Communications Technician apprenticeship, which includes a Technical Certificate and day release classes, along with functional skills in Maths and English if required.

Career Progression:
Potential for a permanent position upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.
