Trainee Lift Technicians

We are looking for enthusiastic Trainee Lift Technicians to become part of our innovative team. This full-time training program at Schindler encompasses a structured 42-month journey with experience across various sectors including Service and Maintenance, New Installations, Modernisation, Repairs, and Escalators. This apprenticeship will equip trainees with a broad spectrum of skills essential for our operations.

Position Overview:

We are currently in search of a Escalator Maintenance and Repair Trainee to support our London transport division, working across multiple locations with a variety of equipment. As a trainee, you will acquire the knowledge and skills to perform maintenance and repairs on Schindler products, as well as on equipment from other brands. This role will also involve executing functional testing procedures to uphold the highest safety standards for our clients.

The ideal candidate will be diligent, motivated, and eager to learn, with a strong desire for professional growth within a forward-thinking, customer-centric organization.

Upon successful completion of the training program, you will achieve a NVQ Level 3 qualification in Lift Electromechanics, along with formal credentials in mechanical and/or electrical engineering. Should a relevant position be available upon graduation, you will have the chance to join one of our Field Operation teams, with opportunities for further advancement within Schindler.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication abilities
  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above
  • Access to public transport connections
  • Customer service and IT proficiency
  • Logical and analytical reasoning
  • Hands-on skills

Work Schedule:

Monday to Thursday: 8.30 am - 5.00 pm
Friday: 8.30 am - 5.00 pm
Total weekly hours: 37.00
(Note: Occasionally, trainees may be required to complete their 37.00-hour week over 5 consecutive nights to fulfill necessary NVQ modules)
