Role Overview:
As an IT Support Technician Trainee, you will be responsible for delivering technical assistance and guidance to staff, students, and parents in utilizing software and troubleshooting issues related to the school's IT systems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive support for computer systems and audio-visual equipment throughout the educational institution.
- Conduct regular visits to various school locations to ensure consistent maintenance and support.
- Assist in the installation and configuration of new technology as needed.
- Collaborate with the Network Manager to perform minor repairs and software updates.
- Monitor and manage the school's printing and photocopying solutions, maintaining an inventory of supplies.
- Adhere to established schedules and conduct regular inventory checks.
- Manage the IT support ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Handle IT support inquiries via phone and log them into the helpdesk system.
- Maintain a shared calendar for the reservation of IT equipment for various events.

Reporting Structure:
You will report directly to the Network Manager regarding daily tasks and responsibilities.

Technical Skills Required:
- Proficiency in ICT and familiarity with relevant software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
- Understanding of Microsoft Operating Systems (e.g., Windows).
- Strong internet navigation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality IT services.

Training and Development:
This apprenticeship will lead to a Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification, including a Technical Certificate and day release classes. Functional skills in Maths and English may also be provided if necessary.

Career Progression:
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there may be opportunities for permanent employment.

Compensation:
£6.40 per hour, with expected working hours of 37.5 per week.

Education Requirements:
GCSE or equivalent qualifications are preferred.

Work Environment:
This position requires in-person attendance.
