Join Hestia Housing Support: Make a Meaningful Impact

At Hestia, we are dedicated to fostering a more equitable, diverse, and inclusive organization that provides essential services in areas such as Domestic Abuse, Modern Slavery, Mental Health & Complex Needs, and Criminal Justice. Our mission is to empower individuals to rebuild their lives and regain their independence.

About the Role:

In this position, you will be engaged in supported accommodation, assisting up to 15 male individuals who face complex challenges, including issues related to offending behaviors, substance and alcohol misuse, homelessness, and mental health. Your role will involve daily interactions with service users, advocating for community support services, and fulfilling key worker responsibilities, which encompass assisting with appointments, benefits, training, employment opportunities, cooking, health and safety, community activities, and liaising with both internal and external providers regarding housing options and transitions.

Daily Responsibilities:

As a Complex Needs Support Specialist at Hestia, you will play a vital role in our Criminal Justice Service. Your efforts will directly impact the lives of our service users, guiding them towards empowerment and independence. Each day will present unique challenges and responsibilities, including:

  • Cultivating and sustaining positive, supportive relationships with residents who have complex health and support needs, including substance misuse and a history of offending behavior.
  • Establishing therapeutic relationships that enable residents to recognize, discuss, and address their substance misuse and offending behavior issues.
  • Assisting residents in maintaining their independence, identifying their strengths, and supporting them in achieving their personal goals and aspirations.
  • Designing and delivering both individual and group interventions that address residents' support needs concerning substance misuse and offending behavior, emphasizing the connection between these issues and the journey of rehabilitation and recovery.
  • Collaborating with residents, Support Workers, and external agencies to create, implement, and review tailored Support and Safety plans.
  • Providing the service with specialized knowledge regarding the complexities of substance misuse and offending behavior, and delivering information, support, and guidance to both residents and staff.
  • Staying informed about sector developments related to substance misuse and the Criminal Justice Sector through training, events, and independent research, and sharing key findings as applicable.
  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships with key external stakeholders, such as Offender Managers and healthcare professionals, to provide holistic and reflective support for residents.
  • Working flexibly as part of a team to ensure service coverage and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Actively monitoring the health, wellbeing, safety, and security of the service and its users, ensuring that all concerns are addressed promptly and in accordance with procedures.
  • Participating in the core activities of the service, supporting colleagues, completing tasks assigned by the service manager, and using initiative to identify and address additional tasks as they arise.
  • Ensuring timely administration, creating detailed, concise, and accurate records while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to organizational policies and procedures.

Why Choose Hestia?

Becoming a part of Hestia means more than just employment; it’s an opportunity to contribute to something significant. We provide a supportive, inclusive, and solution-oriented work environment where your contributions are acknowledged and valued. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally while making a lasting difference in the lives of those we serve.

Desired Qualifications:
