Position Overview
As part of our ambitious ten-year strategy, Durham University aims to enhance its global standing in research, teaching, and the overall student experience. A critical component of this strategy involves effectively promoting the University to various stakeholders, including:
• Prospective students and applicants;
• Potential academic and research partners;
• Collaborators in business and industry;

The overarching goal is to significantly elevate the awareness and reputation of Durham University worldwide.
This role is situated within the Advancement Group, specifically in the Communications Team, and will report to the Communications and Engagement Manager (External). The objectives of the Advancement Group include:
• R1 (Reputation) - Enhancing global reputation;
• R2 (Recruitment) - Supporting international student recruitment;
• R3a (Return) - Driving philanthropic contributions;
• R3b (Return) - Boosting alumni and supporter engagement;
• E (Engagement) - Fostering productive interactions with both external and internal communities.
Key Responsibilities
The Communications Team is tasked with developing and executing various initiatives, including:
1. Marketing our academic programs and assisting in the recruitment of both domestic and international students;
2. Promoting the University and managing engagement with diverse stakeholders and influencers at local, national, and international levels;
3. Upholding and proactively managing the University’s brand and global reputation.
