Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Civil Assistant Project Manager to join our dynamic team at Interaction Construction. This role involves overseeing a diverse array of civil engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Project Delivery Team to manage the commercial and technical aspects of projects ranging from £10k to £1m, with opportunities for involvement in larger projects.
  • Report directly to the Contracts Manager, maintaining effective communication with Site Managers, Engineers, clients, and designers.
  • Oversee daily project planning and the development of construction schedules in alignment with methodologies and resource allocation.
  • Manage procurement processes, including materials, plant, and subcontractor engagements to ensure best value.
  • Supervise the supply chain and workforce to uphold the highest standards of Health and Safety, Environmental, and Quality practices.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and the Business Management System throughout all projects.
  • Identify and manage temporary works requirements, ensuring adherence to quality documentation and necessary permissions.
  • Administer project contracts, including early warnings, valuations, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Facilitate project close-out processes, including the preparation of as-built drawings and documentation for health and safety files.
Progression Opportunities

We offer an ICE Accredited Training Scheme (IEng/CEng) and additional education/training pathways, with clear progression to Project Manager roles.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Relevant HNC/B.Eng or NVQ equivalent, with a strong attention to engineering detail and setting out experience.
  • Certification in IOSH or CITB SSSTS/SMSTS, along with a valid CSCS card.
  • Possession of a full driving license.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required; experience with project management software is advantageous.
  • A strong team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent time management skills, capable of prioritizing a diverse workload.
  • Outstanding communication skills across various platforms.
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to support team members as needed.
