Commercial Director - Business Growth

SSA Recruitment UK is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Director to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving business growth and profitability through effective commercial strategy and team management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commercial Strategy: Develop and implement a commercial strategy that maximises profitability and drives business growth.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a high-performing commercial team, providing guidance and support to ensure they have the skills and resources needed to succeed.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead contract negotiation during the pre-construction phase, ensuring that the company's interests are protected and that contracts are negotiated to maximise profitability.
  • Cost Control: Develop and implement effective cost control mechanisms to ensure accurate CVR's and to identify value opportunities.
  • Business Development: Proactively support business development activities, identifying new opportunities and developing strategies to drive growth.
  • Collaboration: Engender an approach of collaborative working across all business disciplines, ensuring that the commercial team is integrated with other departments to achieve business objectives.

Requirements:

  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience in leading and managing large teams, with a track record of driving business growth and profitability.
  • Commercial Awareness: Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to develop and implement effective commercial strategies.
  • Industry Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, laws and regulations, with the ability to apply this knowledge to drive business growth.
  • Qualifications: Degree in Quantity Surveying and professional qualification status (MCIOB/MRICS).
