We are looking for a dynamic and visionary SEN Coordinator to play a pivotal role in enhancing the Special Educational Needs (SEN) framework at Bestwood Village School. As an integral part of our leadership team, you will be tasked with evaluating and referring new students in collaboration with the Admissions Team and local authorities. You will also oversee the annual reviews of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP).

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in improving educational provision and demonstrate a commitment to advancing the learning experiences of disadvantaged students. A strategic mindset and a history of leadership in educational settings are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic enhancement of SEN services within the school.
  • Conduct assessments and manage referrals for incoming students.
  • Facilitate EHCP annual reviews effectively.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that promotes teamwork and accountability.

Essential Qualifications:

  • No formal SENCo qualification is necessary, but a willingness to pursue one with our support is required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development relevant to the role.
  • Proficient classroom and behavior management capabilities.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory.
