We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced EHC Coordinator to join our Pre 16 team in Nottinghamshire County Council. The successful candidate will play a central role in achieving positive outcomes for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in Nottinghamshire.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a caseload of children and/or young people with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Coordinate the statutory Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment (EHCNA) process for children and young people with SEND.
- Work in co-production with parents and children to ensure their views and voice are represented in all documents.
- Develop and maintain strong links with Education, Health and Care colleagues.
- Facilitate multi-agency meetings to agree the content of new or reviewed EHCPs.
- Manage communications and expectations of families whose children or young people have SEND in relation to support and services available through the Local Offer.
- Strong working knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014, the Special Educational Needs and Disability Regulations 2014, the SEN Code 2015, and the Care Act.
- Good understanding of the Preparing for Adulthood outcomes and the ability to ensure these are reflected in EHCPs.
- Ability to write high-quality EHCPs that reflect the views and aspirations of children and young people.
- Good literacy and IT skills, with a working knowledge of MOSAIC case management system.
- High-level skills in communication and negotiation, with experience in working effectively with disabled children, young people, and their parents/carers, as well as a range of Education, Health, and Social Care agencies and professionals.
