Job Summary:

Empowering Learning is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs in a primary school setting.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans for students with special needs.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students with autism and challenging behavior, promoting their social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Liaise with senior management and the school's Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Lead academic interventions with students who require additional support, helping them to reach their full potential.
  • Support the class teacher in delivering lessons, contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in schools, either through placements or paid work.
  • Strong knowledge of the primary school curriculum and its application in supporting students with special needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, students, and parents.
  • A positive and professional attitude, with a commitment to providing high-quality support to students with special needs.
