Job Description

Job Title: Special Educational Needs Coordinator

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Special Educational Needs Coordinator to join our team at Vacancy Filler. As a SENCO, you will play a vital role in promoting and developing SEN policy in our school, ensuring that all colleagues are aware of and fulfill their statutory responsibilities to pupils with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement SEN policy and procedures to ensure compliance with statutory requirements
  • Provide leadership and guidance to colleagues on SEN matters, including training and support
  • Work closely with teachers, support staff, and other professionals to identify and meet the needs of pupils with SEN
  • Collaborate with external agencies and partners to ensure effective provision for pupils with SEN
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEN provision, making recommendations for improvement

Requirements:

  • Hold, be working towards, or be prepared to undertake the National Professional Qualification (NPQ) for SENCO
  • Be a strong leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have experience of working with pupils with a wide range of SEN
  • Be able to demonstrate effective organizational and time management skills
  • Have a commitment to ongoing professional development
