About the Role:

Southern Education Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Mental Health and Wellbeing Support Specialist to join our team at an SEN school in the Medway Towns. As a Mental Health and Wellbeing Support Mentor, you will work closely with the Mental Health and Wellbeing Lead to provide support to students and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the Mental Health and Wellbeing Lead to develop and implement strategies to support students with SEMH and those struggling in a mainstream education setting.
  • Forge links with outside agencies to support the school in developing its approach and policies related to mental health and wellbeing.
  • Provide individual and group support to students, focusing on building confidence and self-esteem.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement individualized support plans.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and supportive school culture.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with SEMH and those struggling in a mainstream education setting.
  • Strong knowledge of mental health and wellbeing principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with a passion for supporting students with mental health and wellbeing needs.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary of £24,000 - £28,000 per annum.
