About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at the Kent Autistic Trust. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with autism, mental health issues, and learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to individuals with autism, mental health issues, and learning disabilities, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with individuals, their families, and other stakeholders, ensuring their needs are met and their voices are heard.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care and support, addressing complex needs and behaviors.
  • Administer medication, assist with personal care and hygiene, and provide emotional support as needed.
  • Participate in sleep-in shifts and receive an allowance, topped up to NLW where applicable.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized care plans, ensuring they are tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with individuals with autism, mental health issues, and learning disabilities.
  • Ability to think on your feet and problem-solve in complex situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with individuals, families, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to promoting independence, choice, and inclusion, with a focus on empowering individuals to make their own decisions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, with a focus on delivering high-quality care and support.
  • Valid manual driving license and ability to drive a mobility car or service vehicle.
