We are seeking dedicated Pharmacy Support Specialists who are committed to our mission of delivering the Best of Care by the Best People. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help us maintain our reputation as the preferred choice for patients and staff alike.
Key Responsibilities
As a Pharmacy Support Specialist, you will perform essential supply and inventory management tasks within the Pharmacy Department. You will collaborate with all members of the Pharmacy Team and work towards achieving a Level 2 qualification in Pharmacy Services with our assistance.
The ideal candidate will possess (or be willing to pursue) General Pharmaceutical Council approved qualifications in Pharmacy Services or an equivalent standard. Strong communication, literacy, numeracy, and basic computer skills are essential, along with a positive work attitude. The successful candidate will participate in the late-night, weekend, and bank holiday rota.
Additionally, you should demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities, self-motivation, and organizational skills to effectively contribute to our Pharmacy Team.
The successful candidate will be expected to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Job Responsibilities
• Accurately dispense prescriptions in a timely manner.
• Maintain and process prescriptions for the Pharmacy virtual Outpatient clinic.
• Assist in delivering dispensed items to various wards and departments.
• Ensure proper storage of medications, good stock rotation, and monitor expiry dates.
• Promptly report any out-of-stock issues to the procurement and distribution managers.
• Sort, file, and archive prescriptions and other relevant documents as per standard operating procedures.
• Ensure timely dispatch of to-follow items and check for discrepancies.
• Maintain sufficient stock and supplies for the dispensary and ward stock distribution areas.
• Answer telephone inquiries and refer clinical questions to the appropriate trained staff member.
• Uphold excellent customer service at all times.
• Update manual and computer records when stock is transferred and report any discrepancies to a senior staff member.
• Conduct daily stock checks against computer-generated monitoring sheets for stock audits.
• Record all prescriptions received on the prescription tracking system and keep outpatients informed of accurate waiting times.

Qualifications

- GCSE (English & Maths C or above or 4-9)
- NVQ2 (pharmaceutical) or the ability to work towards NVQ2 (pharmaceutical) within 6 months
