Main Duties of the Job

As a Primary Care Mental Health Practitioner, you will be embedded in Primary Care Networks to deliver high-quality patient care in GP settings.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Essential criteria: Registered mental health professional (NMC, HCPC etc)
  • Desirable criteria: Experience of using quality improvement methodologies, recognized management qualification (MSc) or evidence of other advanced education

Experience

  • Essential criteria: Sound knowledge/skills of Evidence-Based Practice in Children's MH, good communication skills, and a min of 3 years post-qualification experience
  • Desirable criteria: Experience in a community mental health setting

Knowledge

  • Essential criteria: An understanding of the relationship between primary and secondary care services, key legislation, and guidelines, knowledge of psychological models
  • Desirable criteria: Understanding of the stepped care model of delivery of psychological therapies

Skills

  • Essential criteria: Strong communication skills
