Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

Location: Yorkshire and the Humber, West Yorkshire, Leeds, LS26

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assisting students with special educational needs (SEN) during classroom activities
  • Supporting educators in executing individualized education plans for SEN students
  • Providing tailored one-on-one assistance to SEN students as required
  • Fostering a positive and inclusive educational atmosphere
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and other specialists to enhance the overall development of SEN students
Essential Qualifications:
  • Experience working with individuals with special educational needs
  • A valid DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service)
Educational Background:

Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths

Experience Required:

Previous experience in a comparable role within the educational field

Skills and Knowledge:
  • Comprehension of diverse learning requirements and strategies to assist SEN students
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Capability to collaborate effectively within a team
  • Patience and understanding when engaging with SEN students
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant certification
  • Additional training in SEN support
Working Environment:

This position involves working in a school environment, adhering to school hours and term schedules. Some flexibility may be necessary to meet the needs of SEN students.

All salary rates mentioned include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role in the future.
