Position Overview

We invite you to become a vital member of our dedicated team as a Lead Medical Officer (LMO) with a focus on the intriguing field of psychiatry. We are seeking a motivated junior physician who possesses a deep-seated enthusiasm for psychiatry to contribute their skills to our organization.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role within both the medical and broader multidisciplinary teams. The LMO will engage in the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of patients in our specialized psychiatric units, under the guidance of our Consultant Psychiatrists.

Key Responsibilities

The primary duties will encompass: conducting patient assessments, performing physical health and mental state evaluations, collaborating in the development of treatment strategies, providing psychoeducation, and contributing to medication management, tribunal, and CPA documentation, among other tasks.

In your daily responsibilities, you may also be called upon to address psychiatric emergencies and crises as necessary.

Job Responsibilities

Key responsibilities will include: conducting patient assessments, performing physical health and mental state evaluations, collaborating in the formulation of treatment plans, providing psychoeducation, and contributing to medication management, tribunal, and CPA documentation, among other tasks.

As an LMO, you will establish essential working relationships with nursing, psychology, occupational therapy, and medical teams. You will enhance your skills in collaborating with external stakeholders, including caregivers.

In your daily role, you may be required to respond to psychiatric emergencies and crises as needed.

You will be expected to demonstrate diligence and maintain precise clinical records in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.

Ongoing supervision and professional development opportunities will be provided to fulfill your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements.

Required Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

  • Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent).
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) in the UK.
  • Completion of Foundation Year 1 (F1) and Foundation Year 2 (F2) training or equivalent.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Compassion, empathy, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
