Job Summary – What to Expect:

In the role of Assistant Business Controller, you will collaborate closely with the Business Controller for UK&I and GKA, ensuring the precision of commercial financial statements and related entries across various functions, including Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, payroll, tax, and treasury, as managed by the UK Shared Service Centre. This role is highly visible and hands-on, necessitating a robust commercial understanding and business acumen.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the Business Controller in preparing the Budget and Quarterly Forecasts, showcasing financial performance and market outlook, while elucidating customer, channel, product, and market drivers.
  • Engaging in the revenue forecasting cycle, spearheading weekly flash reports, monthly, and quarterly planning rounds in collaboration with the Markets & Sales Operations teams, utilizing analytics and processes to enhance understanding of revenue and gross margin dynamics.
  • Supporting the Business Controller in the design, testing, and implementation of the Oracle system within the UK&I market.
  • Ensuring that effective risk management and control frameworks are established.
  • Leading strategic projects within the market, including ERP and finance transformation initiatives, and managing local change management plans.
  • Taking the lead on projects or business support areas at a regional level, as necessary.
  • Guaranteeing compliance with internal controls.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate reporting of Country results in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Monitoring and forecasting cash flow accurately.
  • Proposing strategies to enhance overall P&L and overseeing the implementation of projects endorsed by the market leadership team.
  • Supporting special projects that facilitate management decision-making.
  • Communicating financial results effectively, ensuring Corporate & Regional Finance teams comprehend key cost drivers, and developing insights that promote optimal decision-making and enhanced value.
  • Delivering consistent reports and analyses of financial results to support the timely and accurate monthly close process and functional management reviews.
  • Participating in special projects that drive management decision-making.
  • Assisting with Internal Audits.

Experience & Education:

  • Proven excellence in planning, implementing, and co-managing projects across multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong presence and comfort in collaborating with business leaders to build a case and recommend actions.
  • Ability to provide and communicate high-quality advice supporting the preparation of business cases and deals.
  • Direct, hands-on experience in creating, tracking, and controlling actual, forecast, and budget metrics, with a relentless curiosity to identify opportunities for business benefit.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze actual versus planned results and summarize underlying drivers of variances, providing clear and concise interpretations of results to management.
  • Qualified Accountant or equivalent business finance qualification.
