Wärtsilä is seeking a driven and accomplished Business Development Manager, Energy Storage to lead our growth in the United Kingdom market.

In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the development of new business opportunities within the energy storage sector. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving sales for grid-scale projects and service agreements, establishing Wärtsilä as a leading provider in this dynamic industry.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Cultivate and manage a robust pipeline of energy storage sales opportunities across the UK market.
  • Lead the entire sales process, from identifying customer needs to closing profitable deals for both new build projects and service agreements.
  • Develop and execute strategic partnerships with key customers and industry stakeholders to expand Wärtsilä's market presence.
  • Provide expert guidance on our energy storage solutions, aligning them with customer requirements and business objectives.
  • Forecast sales performance accurately and ensure profitability while adhering to Wärtsilä's directives.
  • Champion the value proposition of Wärtsilä's energy storage offerings, demonstrating their full lifecycle benefits to customers.
  • Lead negotiations with clients, ensuring technical, contractual, risk, and compliance aspects are addressed effectively.
  • Serve as a liaison between customers and internal stakeholders, advocating for customer needs and feedback.
Your Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in business development and sales within the grid-scale energy storage sector.
  • Deep understanding of European electricity markets, financing models, utilities, independent power producers (IPPs), and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Minimum five years of professional experience in a business environment.
  • Exceptional consultative selling skills, with the ability to understand customer needs and develop tailored solutions.
  • Strong track record of building and maintaining relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
