Job Summary – What to Expect:

In the role of Assistant Financial Controller, you will assist the Business Controller for UK&I and GKA, ensuring the precision of commercial financial statements and related entries across Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, payroll, tax, and treasury functions managed by the UK Shared Service Centre. This role is highly visible and hands-on, necessitating a robust commercial understanding and business insight.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with the Business Controller on the preparation of budgets and quarterly forecasts, presenting financial performance and market outlook with insights into customer, channel, product, and market drivers.
  • Engaging in the revenue forecasting cycle, leading weekly flash, monthly, and quarterly planning sessions in conjunction with the Markets & Sales Operations teams, utilizing analytics to enhance understanding of revenue and gross margin dynamics.
  • Assisting the Business Controller in the design, testing, and implementation of the Oracle system within the UK&I market.
  • Ensuring that effective risk management and control frameworks are established.
  • Leading strategic projects, including ERP and finance transformation initiatives, and managing local change management plans.
  • Expected to spearhead projects or business support areas at a regional level as needed.
  • Guaranteeing compliance with internal controls.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate reporting of country results in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Overseeing accurate cash flow monitoring and forecasting.
  • Proposing strategies to enhance overall P&L and leading the implementation of projects endorsed by the market leadership team.
  • Supporting special projects that facilitate management decision-making.
  • Communicating financial results and ensuring that Corporate & Regional Finance teams comprehend key cost drivers, developing insights that promote optimal decision-making and increased value.
  • Driving consistent reporting and analysis of financial results to support the timely and accurate monthly close process and functional management reviews.
  • Participating in special projects that drive management decision-making.
  • Assisting with internal audits.

Experience & Education:

  • Proven excellence in planning, implementing, and co-managing projects across multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong presence, comfortable collaborating with business leaders to build a case and recommend actions.
  • Ability to provide and communicate high-quality advice supporting the preparation of business cases and deals.
  • Direct, hands-on experience in creating, tracking, and controlling actuals, forecasts, and budget metrics, with a relentless curiosity to identify opportunities for business benefit.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze actual versus planned results and summarize underlying drivers of variances, providing clear and concise interpretations of results to management.
  • Qualified Accountant or equivalent business finance qualification.
