Job Overview
We are currently seeking two Craft Technicians to join our team.
The successful candidates will play a vital role in the maintenance, repair, and enhancement of our electrical assets.
Opportunities for career advancement may be available for individuals who show initiative and a willingness to expand their skill set, contingent upon business requirements.
Applicants must possess a relevant qualification equivalent to English GCSE (1-9 / G-A) or Functional Skills.
Qualification verification will be required prior to employment.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure a clear understanding of assigned tasks before commencing work; Uphold and promote a culture of Health, Safety, and Quality at all times; Prepare work sites effectively; Set up necessary signage and barriers. Perform excavation, cable laying, and backfilling. Dig pole and stay holes. Install meter boards, meters, and cut-outs; Complete single-phase service terminations in cut-out dead; Complete three-phase service terminations in cut-out dead; Operate mini excavators; Provide first aid as needed, in accordance with training; Maintain tools, equipment, materials, and vehicles in a safe condition; Collaborate with team members; Evaluate the potential impact of work activities on customers; Minimize negative effects of own activities on customers; Inform affected customers about the impact of work activities; Address customer complaints directly whenever possible; Assess site risks and take necessary actions to mitigate them; Adhere to safety protocols, utilize protective equipment, and wear appropriate clothing; Report all accidents and incidents promptly.Ideal Candidate
This role involves working away from the depot, often in pairs. The environment requires quick, decisive, and responsible reactions. Flexibility is essential to assist the team in achieving its objectives. The position is well-suited for individuals who thrive in a physically demanding outdoor setting.
Mobility across the service area is necessary, and candidates may be required to participate in out-of-hours standby duties; therefore, a full driving license is preferred.
While some electrical experience is advantageous, comprehensive training will be provided.
