Overview:
In this role, you will enhance the communication efforts of the council by leveraging your expertise across various communication channels and essential service areas, contributing to the council's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the formulation and execution of impactful communication and campaign strategies.
  • Take ownership of significant projects, working independently to create cohesive campaign plans tailored to specific service areas.
  • Spot and seize opportunities for favorable public relations, utilizing a diverse range of tactics.
  • When necessary, oversee the commissioning and assessment of various media content, including graphic design, video production, digital advertising, and editorial work, ensuring detailed briefs are prepared for each campaign.
  • Occasionally produce straightforward video or other content in collaboration with staff and community members for use on council platforms.
  • Contribute to the management of key communication channels, such as newsletters and social media, by regularly providing high-quality, relevant content.
  • Participate in a rota system to handle incoming communication requests.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to become a trusted communications resource.

Essential Experience:
Proven experience in both online and offline marketing strategies, with a focus on effective deployment and evaluation of their impact is crucial. A track record of delivering engaging and successful campaigns is also essential.

Essential Qualifications:
A solid educational background, coupled with strong written and verbal communication skills, is required.

Additional Information:
Working hours are set at 36 hours per week.
