Business Development Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to lead our School of Business and Management's initiatives. This role is crucial for enhancing the student experience, improving recruitment, and contributing to the School's standing in national league tables.
Key Responsibilities- Business Growth and Development: Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with internal and external organizations to support business growth and diversification.
- Stakeholder Management: Serve as the main point of contact and manage key relationships with a range of stakeholders, including senior-level partnerships.
- Team Leadership: Line manage the Business Development Team to lead and implement business development projects.
- Partnership Development: Liaise at a senior level and take high-level responsibility for business-critical partnerships, particularly in education initiatives.
- Risk Management: Identify risks in the delivery of business development initiatives and develop processes to mitigate those risks.
- Programme Development: Lead the continuation and development of SBM Apprenticeship education initiatives, ensuring client requirements are met and contractual engagements are fulfilled.
- Client Engagement: Oversee end-to-end engagement including client consultation, programme design, learner attraction, on-boarding, delivery, audit, evaluation, and quality control.
- Module Development: Lead on client-based consultation and future employer-related modules, serving as the principal contact for employer management.
- Proven Experience: Proven experience in business development within an educational or professional training context.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills with experience in managing teams and projects.
- Relationship Building: Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders.
- Strategic Thinking: Strategic thinking with the ability to identify opportunities for growth and risk mitigation.
- Programme Design: Experience in designing and delivering educational programmes, particularly apprenticeships.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
