About the Role

Fathom, a leading provider of water risk data and services, is seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our team. As a key member of our business development team, you will be responsible for driving new business opportunities and revenue growth in the Lloyd's, UK domestic, and EMEA markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate sustainable revenue growth against sales targets by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in the insurance sector.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing insurance clients to increase revenue growth.
  • Collaborate with Fathom Partners to help them achieve sustained insurance revenue growth.
  • Position Fathom as the preeminent provider of water risk data and services to the insurance industry.
  • Create and maintain a sales pipeline for sustained revenue growth.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of Fathom's products and articulate our offering to prospective and existing clients and partners.
  • Work closely with the Customer Success team to provide feedback on product issues and insights for new product development.
  • Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals to demonstrate the benefits of Fathom's data and services.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
  • Provide accurate and timely management information, including KPIs, lead activity, and revenue forecasts.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience in selling spatial data, risk solutions, catastrophe models, or services into the insurance sector at a senior level.
  • A successful history of new business sales, with a proven track record of delivering against targets.
  • Experience in both new business development and account management of clients.
  • Experience working with partners to co-sell into the insurance sector.
  • Credibility at all levels and evidence of building strong relationships internally and with clients.
  • A good understanding of cat modeling and insurance processes.
  • The ability to communicate technical concepts to non-specialists.
  • Experience in preparing and submitting large tender responses.
  • Developing pricing and licensing models.
  • Previous software experience, including Salesforce, GIS, RMS, AIR, or other cat modeling or risk platforms.
