Position Overview

We are dedicated to nurturing the development of our junior medical professionals. Each junior clinical fellow is paired with an educational mentor who will assist in enhancing your competencies and knowledge within the position. You will receive support in maintaining your logbooks and portfolio. Our team of consultants is adaptable and considerate of individual training needs, ensuring optimal support. You will have the chance to participate in weekly educational sessions in the Medical Assessment Unit (MAU). As a Junior Clinical Fellow, you can anticipate comprehensive training in all facets of Acute Medicine and outpatient care.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will operate within a nurturing and educationally driven atmosphere, providing junior-level experience (comparable to FY2/ST1-2) in a teaching hospital across various medical sub-specialties.

This role is situated within a prominent healthcare institution, where you will play a vital role in the daily operations of the Medical Assessment Unit (MAU), Emergency Department (ED), and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC). There may be instances of cross-site collaboration as necessary.

You will collaborate closely with General Practitioners and Emergency Department colleagues while accepting patients for evaluation in SDEC. Our SDEC accommodates ambulatory patients from the ED and referrals from GPs, who are assessed by Advanced Clinical Practitioners and junior doctors within the unit.

  • Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice
  • MBBS or equivalent qualification
  • ALS certification

  • MRCP Part 1

  • Prior experience on a resuscitation team.
  • A minimum of 3 months working in the NHS as a junior doctor in a medical specialty.
