The University of Central Lancashire is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Optometrist to take on a leadership role in our Eye Health Clinic. As a Clinical Director, you will be responsible for the daily management of the clinic, overseeing a small team of clinical supervisors, dispensing opticians, and receptionists. Your primary focus will be on facilitating students in their clinical training for Optometry and Ophthalmic Dispensing courses.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the clinic's daily operations, ensuring smooth running and efficient patient flow.
- Supervise and mentor a team of clinical staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the clinic's commercial side, including marketing and business development initiatives.
- Collaborate with academic staff to integrate clinical training with curriculum development.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including GOS returns and patient management systems.
Requirements
- Good honours degree in Optometry.
- Registration with the General Optical Council as an Optometrist.
- Proven leadership and management experience in a clinical setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
