Job Summary

The University of Central Lancashire is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Optometrist to take on a leadership role in our Eye Health Clinic. As a Clinical Director, you will be responsible for the daily management of the clinic, overseeing a small team of clinical supervisors, dispensing opticians, and receptionists. Your primary focus will be on facilitating students in their clinical training for Optometry and Ophthalmic Dispensing courses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the clinic's daily operations, ensuring smooth running and efficient patient flow.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of clinical staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the clinic's commercial side, including marketing and business development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with academic staff to develop and deliver clinical training programs for students.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including GOS returns and patient management system maintenance.

Requirements

  • Good honours degree in Optometry.
  • Registration with the General Optical Council as an Optometrist.
  • Proven leadership and management experience in a clinical setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
