Job Title: Echocardiography Training Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Echocardiography Training Manager to join our Transformation Unit team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and directing the training pathway associated with the Echocardiography Service in the Cardio-Respiratory Department.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Autonomously manage, coordinate, and direct the training pathway associated with the Echocardiography Service.
  • Responsible for all trainee highly specialized cardiac physiologists working in this area.
  • Work as an independent practitioner to directly deliver patient care and well-being.
  • Ensure that performance of duties and clinical practices conforms to agreed national policies and procedures.
  • Provide a range of complex facts, analysis, and interpretation to all areas of investigation within the Cardio Respiratory Department.
  • Produce complex reports as an independent practitioner in echocardiography.
  • Observe and record cardiac physiological measurements.
  • Assist in diagnostic studies utilizing TOE, pericardiocentesis, bubble contrast, and stress echo studies.
  • Assist in the performance of 3D and TDI examinations as the service develops.
  • Assist in piloting new service developments in echocardiography.
  • Assist the Manager in the production of audit, review, and quality assurance.
Requirements:
  • Appropriate Science Degree (or equivalent)
  • ILS (minimum)
  • BTEC/HTEC (MPPM) or equivalent
  • Registered member on the Council of Clinical Physiologists
  • ALS or equivalent
  • Teaching certificate/Assessor's Award
  • Post-grad Studies in relevant field
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
  • 2 years experience in Echo, including TOE, Bubble/Contrast studies.
  • Proven experience in planning and organization of staff training, meetings, and conferences, and, if required, work-based assessor sessions.
  • Experience in Pericardiocentesis, TDI, TVI stress echo, and 3D echo.
