About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Echocardiography Service Lead to join our team at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Cardio-Respiratory Department, you will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and directing the training pathway associated with the Echocardiography Service.

As a seasoned cardiac physiologist, you will work as an independent practitioner to deliver patient care and well-being. You will lead and mentor colleagues working towards successful BSE accreditation and ensure that performance of duties and clinical practices conform to agreed national policies and procedures.

We are a self-reporting centre with BSE Laboratory Accreditation for transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography. The successful candidate will work mainly in performing and reporting adult transthoracic echocardiograms but will also contribute to the provision of other clinical measurement services, if required.

  • Lead and mentor colleagues working towards successful BSE accreditation.
  • Ensure that performance of duties and clinical practices conform to agreed national policies and procedures.
  • Perform, unsupervised, all routine non-invasive techniques/investigations of the department and provide advice and/or reports to clinicians.
  • Contribute to the provision of other clinical measurement services, if required.
