About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Echocardiography Service Lead to join our dedicated team at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Cardio-Respiratory Department, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring colleagues in the delivery of high-quality echocardiography services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage, coordinate, and direct the training pathway for echocardiography services, ensuring that all trainee highly specialized cardiac physiologists receive comprehensive training and support.
  • Lead and mentor colleagues in achieving successful BSE accreditation, promoting excellence in echocardiography practice.
  • Perform and report adult transthoracic echocardiograms, as well as contribute to the provision of other clinical measurement services as required.
  • Assist in the day-to-day running of the service, performing a wide range of investigations, and collaborating with Consultant Cardiologists in routine and complex procedures.
  • Provide accurate measurements and factual reports, and assist in audit procedures to ensure the highest standards of service delivery.
Requirements
  • Appropriate Science Degree (or equivalent)
  • ILS (minimum)
  • BTEC/HTEC (MPPM) or equivalent
  • BSE adult accreditation
  • Registered member on the Council of Clinical Physiologists
  • 2 years experience in Echo, including TOE, Bubble/Contrast studies
  • High level of specialist knowledge in areas of non-invasive cardiology
  • Knowledge across all aspects of Cardiology
