Guaranteed working hours are 48 hours per week, depending on location and shift patterns. Shifts may include days, evenings, nights, and weekends, with the option for additional overtime as needed. Participation in the on-call rota is required. The shift rotation consists of 7 days on followed by 3 days off, then another 7 days on and 3 days off, followed by 4 days on and 4 days off, allowing for only 2 weekends of work per month. A flexible working approach is essential, as travel may be necessary.

About Chevron Traffic Management:

Chevron Traffic Management specializes in establishing temporary road or lane closures, diversion routes, and pedestrian pathways to ensure the safety of road workers and users during construction activities. This includes the deployment of road cones, signage, temporary traffic signals, pedestrian crossings, and barriers. Our work is visible throughout the country, and the next time you encounter roadworks, take a moment to observe the signage; it may very well have been placed by Chevron Traffic Management.

The role of a Traffic Management Specialist is crucial and involves a range of responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installing, maintaining, and dismantling temporary traffic management setups, including cones, signs, frames, sandbags, and other equipment on low-speed roads.
  • Conducting traffic counts, communicating with clients and subcontractors, managing timings, and documenting near misses.
  • Maintaining temporary traffic signals.
  • Assisting and mentoring new trainees.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum qualification of SLG Unit 2.
  • Familiarity with Chapter 8 regulations.
  • Physically fit and capable of passing a safety-critical worker medical assessment.
  • Possession of a full UK driving license, with restrictions on points for insurance purposes.
  • Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing.
  • A positive, proactive attitude.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in approach.
  • Strong attention to detail.
