Job Summary

The Alcohol & Drug Service (ADS) is a leading provider of substance misuse treatment services, dedicated to transforming the lives of individuals affected by drugs and alcohol.

As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering expert and effective practice around substance misuse treatment. Your primary responsibility will be to provide advice and brief interventions, structured key working, assessments, and a needle exchange service to our service users.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality substance misuse treatment services to individuals and groups
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on substance misuse treatment options
  • Conduct assessments and develop personalized treatment plans
  • Deliver structured key working and brief interventions to service users
  • Operate a needle exchange service to promote harm reduction
Person Specification

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional with a strong background in substance misuse treatment. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience of working within substance misuse services
  • Experience of multi-disciplinary team working
  • Knowledge of substances and their effects
  • Understanding of the recovery movement
  • Knowledge of health and safety principles
  • Understanding of safeguarding adults and children principles
  • Knowledge of mental health issues
  • Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary working
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant degree in a field such as social work, psychology, or sociology
  • A Diploma in Substance Misuse or equivalent
  • Experience of working with electronic operating systems such as systmOne
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A strong understanding of the principles of equality and diversity
