Position Overview

We are seeking a registered Clinical Technologist or Clinical Scientist to oversee critical components of medical equipment administration within the Clinical Engineering division. This role encompasses:

1. Leadership and oversight of the medical equipment asset management system to ensure precise data is maintained for all medical devices, along with the coordination and generation of compliance reports for internal and external stakeholders.

2. Establishing, renewing, and managing maintenance agreements for medical equipment in collaboration with relevant parties to guarantee compliance and uninterrupted service coverage.

Key Responsibilities

This role requires close collaboration with service managers, clinicians, Clinical Engineering colleagues, and suppliers, necessitating an on-site presence for a significant portion of the workweek during standard office hours. However, flexible working arrangements may be accommodated based on service requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Qualifications

  • A good honors degree in a relevant field such as Physical Science or Engineering.
  • A postgraduate degree or equivalent experience in a related discipline.
  • Membership in a recognized Professional Institute.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Registration as a Clinical Technologist or Clinical Scientist, or eligibility to obtain such registration.
  • Strong understanding of the principles of measurement systems and electronic instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with the regulatory landscape governing medical devices.
  • Proficient in Quality Systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of standard desktop applications.
  • Awareness of Electrical Safety standards for medical equipment.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of clinical scientific computing.
  • Understanding of financial instructions and procurement policies.

Experience Requirements

  • Significant hands-on experience in managing medical equipment, including calibration and maintenance.
  • Experience in supervising and mentoring junior staff.
