Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Engineer to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective management of medical equipment across the Trust.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support across the entire medical equipment life-cycle, including procurement, maintenance, and disposal.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for medical equipment management, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to identify equipment needs and develop solutions to improve patient care.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize the risk of equipment-related incidents.
  • Develop and maintain accurate asset records, including equipment service history and inventory audits.
  • Provide technical input to medical equipment governance, including the planning and delivery of procurement projects.
  • Establish preventative maintenance levels, investigate safety-related incidents, and action safety alerts.
  • Develop a continued professional development portfolio to support professional registration at an appropriate healthcare science level.

Requirements:

  • Degree/NVQ Level 6 in a relevant subject, or extensive knowledge, skills, and experience in the field of equipment management and support.
  • Expert knowledge of clinical, scientific, and engineering aspects of a wide range of medical equipment.
  • Experience of creating reports from relational databases.
  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office packages.
  • Able to assimilate, analyze, and present complex data.
  • High level of planning and organizational skills.
  • Able to negotiate issues of a technical and commercial nature.
