Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Engineer to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective management of medical equipment across the Trust.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support across the entire medical equipment life-cycle, including procurement, maintenance, and disposal.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for medical equipment management, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to identify equipment needs and develop solutions to improve patient care.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize the risk of equipment-related incidents.
- Develop and maintain accurate asset records, including equipment service history and inventory audits.
- Provide technical input to medical equipment governance, including the planning and delivery of procurement projects.
- Establish preventative maintenance levels, investigate safety-related incidents, and action safety alerts.
- Develop a continued professional development portfolio to support professional registration at an appropriate healthcare science level.
Requirements:
- Degree/NVQ Level 6 in a relevant subject, or extensive knowledge, skills, and experience in the field of equipment management and support.
- Expert knowledge of clinical, scientific, and engineering aspects of a wide range of medical equipment.
- Experience of creating reports from relational databases.
- Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office packages.
- Able to assimilate, analyze, and present complex data.
- High level of planning and organizational skills.
- Able to negotiate issues of a technical and commercial nature.
