Position Overview:
Abacus Careers is seeking a skilled Lead Infrastructure Reliability Engineer to enhance our clients' infrastructure within a vibrant and rapidly evolving setting. This role emphasizes the development and upkeep of high-performing and scalable systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Articulate problem statements, evaluate data, and generate detailed reports with viable alternatives.
  • Exhibit proficiency in VMWare, Cohesity, distributed computing frameworks, and hardware platforms.
  • Adjust system configurations, modify settings, and conduct routine maintenance to ensure peak performance.
  • Collect and assess client requirements, facilitate hardware and software necessities, and sustain project environments.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues, identify root causes, propose solutions, and document results.
  • Design, implement, and sustain VMWare environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenters, and appliances.
  • Offer technical assistance for virtualization-related challenges and guarantee seamless operations.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to comprehend storage requirements and align with organizational goals.
  • Establish and oversee data protection strategies such as snapshots, replication, and backups.
  • Create and maintain automation scripts utilizing PowerCLI, Python, or other scripting languages.
  • Implement automated deployment and management processes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Conduct regular assessments of resource utilization and strategize for future capacity requirements.
  • Optimize resource allocation for effective utilization.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience with VMware vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.
  • Expertise in virtualization technologies, including VMware NSX and vSAN.
  • Strong grasp of networking principles, storage systems (SAN, NAS), and server hardware.
  • Experience with automation and scripting languages (PowerCLI, PowerShell, Python).
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery, high availability, and backup solutions.
  • Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing).
  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows Server, UNIX/Linux distributions).
  • Exceptional documentation skills for maintaining comprehensive records.
  • Proven experience with automation, CICD, orchestration, and configuration management.
  • Strong understanding of security and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with Atlassian Agile tools (Confluence, JIRA).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
  • Project management capabilities for overseeing multiple tasks and projects.

Desirable Qualifications:
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP), VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP), VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX).
  • Additional certifications (e.g., ITIL, Microsoft, Cisco).
  • Google Cloud certifications (e.g., Professional Data Engineer, Professional Network Engineer, Associate Cloud Engineer).
  • Familiarity with other virtualization platforms and cloud technologies (Hyper-V, KVM, AWS, Azure).
  • Understanding of security best practices and compliance in virtualized environments.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools (Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform).
