About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Radiographer Specialist to join our team at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Radiology department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the day-to-day running of the service, working closely with the Lead Radiographer to ensure the safe and effective management of the area.
  • Act as a role model, presenting a positive image of self, team, and the organization.
  • Be responsible for the delivery and coordination of care, through appropriate professional practice, delegation, and supervision of duties carried out by junior staff.
  • Ensure a high radiographic standard is delivered by self and others, based on assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of standards to meet patients' needs in accordance with agreed local and national standards and evidence-based guidelines.
  • Set, monitor, and maintain standards of care to improve the patient experience and outcome of care.
  • Proactively manage risk and maintain patient safety, conforming to health, safety, and security legislation, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Communicate with patients, relatives, and other healthcare workers to ensure appropriate dissemination of complex information, in a form and manner consistent with their level of understanding, culture, background, and preferred ways of communicating.
  • Promote equality in care and practice by recognizing, respecting, and meeting the needs and choices of individuals.
  • Participate in education and training of junior staff.

  • DCR/BSc
  • HCPC registered
  • Substantial post-qualification experience
