Job overview

A dynamic proactive existing Advanced Practitioner Reporting Radiographer is sought for the following 

Managing a fantastic expanding group of Advanced Practitioner Reporting Radiographers and trainees.

Developing services to aid patient pathways and continual development of the team to meet potential future requirements by planning and awareness of the national picture. 

Working in close liaison with the Principal Radiographer for X-Ray to improve Image Quality and radiographer training. 

Being an advocate and role model for Advanced Practice locally and representing LTH at regional and national meetings. 

Main duties of the job

You will lead, develop, and manage the advancing practice service for Reporting, ensuring that the team operates at the highest level of expertise. This includes leading the development and maintenance of core knowledge within the Reporting Radiographers team, utilising advanced study and specialised expertise.

Additionally, you will provide advice on reporting matters and keep service managers informed on relevant issues and oversee clinical supervision and management of the Reporting team's activities while contributing to the management of the radiology budget through effective staffing compliance.

Finally, you will support the efficient use of resources, contribute to the Radiology Financial Improvement Plan (FIP), actively identify areas for improvement, and participate in the development of business cases

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Duties to include but not be limited to:

Manage the specialist service in a safe, effective manner including management of personnel, facilities and the associated systems and processes. Be responsible for the delivery and co-ordination of care, through appropriate professional practice, delegation and supervision of duties carried out by all staff within the team. Set, monitor and maintain standards of care to improve the patient experience and outcome of care.  Pro -actively manage risk and be responsible for taking the lead in risk management and governance in the specialist areas. Maintain patient safety, conforming to health, safety and security legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines Ensure research based practice is undertaken in department. To ensure systems are in place for the development, education and training of staff and students to meet changing service needs Workforce Planning

•BSc in Radiography •MSc in relevant specialist subject or extensive equivalent experience •HCPC registration •Management qualification- ILM level 4 or extensive equivalent experience

•Extensive independent clinical practice and leadership in speciality supported by CPD •Experience of leading an area and supervising staff •Understanding of challenges faced in a busy Radiology teaching and research environment that supports a wide range of complex clinical examinations •Knowledge of booking and capacity planning •Knowledge of IR(ME)R and IRR/ MHRA •Knowledge of Clinical Governance and the relevance to practice •Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures •Knowledge of ethical issues
