Job Summary

As a Principal Metrology Engineer at BAE Systems, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in the calibration, maintenance, and management of test and production equipment on our Barrow site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze problems related to platform and support system issues to ensure that solutions do not have unforeseen impacts.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor teams to ensure they understand systems and protocols associated with the work and task.
  • Ensure work meets quality, cost, and schedule requirements, and complete and report status against own and team's workload.
  • Analyze problems and generate proposed solutions to improve operation, efficiency, and performance.
  • Review and approve solutions, including documentation and data, within your authority or submit for higher-level approval.
Requirements
  • CMI L5 / HNC / HND or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in Metrology, Calibration, or related field.
  • Experience with apprenticeship standards, developing, and coaching new starters.
  • Ability to apply depth of expertise to resolve complex challenges and issues.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining customer and management interfaces.
