Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Metrology Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our Calibration department, you will be responsible for leading the dimensional calibration team and ensuring the accuracy and precision of our measurement equipment.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Leading the dimensional calibration team and ensuring the accuracy and precision of our measurement equipment.
  2. Developing and implementing calibration procedures and measurement uncertainty budgets.
  3. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of calibration services.
  4. Providing technical guidance and support to team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. Extensive experience working in a precision dimensional calibration/metrology laboratory environment.
  2. Strong understanding of quality systems and standards (ISO 17025/ISO 9001).
  3. Relevant academic qualification (STEM Degree, HNC/HND) or equivalent.
