Job Title: Metrology Engineer - Submarines
Location: Barrow (Cumbria)
We offer relocation support packages for this role, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building, integrating, and testing bespoke instrumentation solutions where suitable commercial options aren't available.
- Supporting novel research projects connected to advance and novel sensing (e.g. how to sense strain).
- Supporting emergent site instrumentation projects identifying effective solutions to emerging problems related to metrology and calibration.
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing in-service monitoring systems installed throughout the site.
- Helping to deploy, operate, and maintain monitoring systems used to support various manufacturing and trials activities across all submarine build programmes.
- Managing data quality and integrity for manufacturing and trials instrumentation systems while understanding emergent measurement technologies and systems developed by other institutions.
Requirements:
- A minimum requirement is to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor's or Master's degree in either Electronic Engineering, Control Engineering, Software Engineering, Physics, or Maths or relevant STEM degree.
