Assistant Practitioner / Nurse Associate - Leg Ulcer Clinic

An exciting opportunity is available for a Band 4 Assistant Practitioner or Nurse Associate within the Leg Ulcer/Wound Clinic in Barking and Dagenham.

We are looking for a motivated and dynamic Band 4 Assistant Practitioner or Nurse Associate to join our innovative Tissue Viability team in Barking and Dagenham. This community-based team is forward-thinking and dedicated to providing high-quality care.

Main Responsibilities

The position will primarily be located within the Leg Ulcer Clinic, with some potential for home visits.

The ideal candidate must demonstrate flexibility, strong teamwork skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. Excellent interpersonal and IT skills are essential for communicating with patients, caregivers, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.

We welcome applications from both Assistant Practitioners and Nurse Associates who possess proven clinical and communication skills, eager to contribute to our friendly and innovative team. Previous experience in Leg Ulcer Management and Compression Bandaging is highly desirable.

The successful candidate will showcase the ability to apply a range of skills and experiences gained in clinical practice to assist registered clinicians in conducting comprehensive and holistic assessments.

A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for work purposes are essential.

Starting Your Journey with NELFT
NELFT places great importance on ensuring that new employees are welcomed and properly inducted into the Trust. All new starters will participate in a comprehensive induction program lasting up to two weeks, which includes mandatory training, systems training, and equipment allocation. During this process, new employees will have the chance to meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend various drop-in sessions focused on engagement, health, wellbeing, and key processes.

Probationary Period
This position is subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from this requirement unless they are currently partway through a probationary period or are bank staff.

High Cost Area Supplement – London
This role also includes a High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,313 and a maximum payment of £5,436 per annum pro rata).
