Position Summary

We are currently seeking a Technology Risk & Controls Manager based in Cardiff.

This role is pivotal in shaping and implementing our risk framework, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of our technology risk profile. You will also coordinate assurance activities with both internal and external audit functions, as well as operational risk and controls assurance teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary technology controls officer, ensuring adherence to IT controls through thorough testing and design assurance reviews.
  • Engage with control owners to enhance the existing self-attestation process for controls.
  • Identify, document, and evaluate technology risks and issues affecting the business, producing regular reports for the technology risk committee that highlight significant risks and emerging issues.
  • Establish and generate Key Risk Indicators (KRI) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to facilitate ongoing risk monitoring.
  • Lead external control assurance reviews as part of annual commitments, including AAF, SOC, CASS, and Statutory External Audit.
  • Oversee the management of access provisioning, de-provisioning, and modification requests handled by the Identity & Access Management Operations team.
  • Conduct the Risk & Controls Self-Assessment (RCSA) process through dedicated risk assessments.
  • Support the execution of internal audits, operational risk reviews, and compliance assessments related to technology management.
Candidate Profile

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Possess expertise in delivering and managing Information Security assurance activities.
  • Have a solid understanding of IT controls and risks, enabling the identification and evaluation of control effectiveness.
  • Can manage complex relationships with stakeholders effectively.
  • Hold relevant Information Security and/or Information Technology certifications (CISA, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent) which would be advantageous.
  • May currently be in a consulting role and are seeking an opportunity to transition to an in-house position.
