Senior Bioinformatics Scientist

The Principal Bioinformatics Researcher will spearhead the creation of cutting-edge genomic solutions aimed at enhancing treatment strategies based on the molecular characteristics of cancer, facilitating early detection, and monitoring of tumors. This role will primarily focus on the development of innovative algorithms for next-generation sequencing (NGS) biomarkers critical for cancer diagnostics, as well as designing and executing data analyses for research and development studies to ensure our assays and algorithms fulfill performance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with experimental and bioinformatics teams to design and analyze experiments that support both existing and new oncology assays.
  • Develop and prototype algorithms for genomic biomarkers to address emerging molecular diagnostic requirements.
  • Offer technical expertise to both internal and external partners.
  • Engage in cross-functional research and development teams for assays and algorithms with minimal supervision.
  • Communicate plans and results effectively across various functions.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, statistics, mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in at least two areas including statistics, standard bioinformatics techniques, and NGS data analysis.
  • Experience in developing bioinformatics algorithms and methodologies for NGS.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or C++.
  • Strong communication skills to contribute effectively to cross-functional project teams and collaborate with stakeholders.
