Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Investigator Scientist in Bioinformatics to join our team at UK Research and Innovation. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading research projects in computational cardiac imaging and bioinformatics, and will work closely with our team of scientists and clinicians to advance our understanding of heart function and disease.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead research projects in computational cardiac imaging and bioinformatics, including developing and applying new methods and techniques
  • Collaborate with our team of scientists and clinicians to design and conduct research studies, and to analyze and interpret data
  • Develop and maintain computational models and algorithms for analyzing cardiac motion and predicting patient outcomes
  • Work with our team to develop and implement new data management and analysis tools and techniques
  • Present research findings at scientific conferences and publish in leading journals
Requirements
  • PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field
  • Significant postdoctoral research experience in bioinformatics and computational biology
  • Excellent programming skills in R and Python, including experience with Jupyter Notebooks and cloud computing resources
  • Advanced knowledge of predictive analytics, clustering techniques, and causal inference modeling
  • Experience with large databases and data wrangling, including experience with UK Biobank data
