MRC Investigator Scientist in Bioinformatics

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced investigator scientist to join our team at Lifelancer, a leading talent hiring platform in Life Sciences, Pharma, and IT. As a key member of our team, you will be working on a new collaboration with Calico Labs to explore the mechanisms of human aging and its impact on cardiovascular disease.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement machine learning models to analyze cardiac motion and predict patient outcomes
- Conduct research in bioinformatics, statistics, and computer vision to identify potential therapeutic targets and genetic risk factors
- Collaborate with our team to develop and apply causal inference techniques, such as structural equation modeling
- Design and implement experiments to test hypotheses and validate findings
- Communicate research findings and results to the team and stakeholders
- PhD in a relevant field, such as bioinformatics, statistics, or computer science
- Substantial research experience in machine learning, statistics, and bioinformatics
- Expert knowledge of statistical tools, including gradient boosting algorithms and causal inference techniques
- Proven programming experience in languages such as Python and R
- Ability to innovate and adapt techniques from other domains
