Senior Bioinformatics Scientist

Job Summary:
Lifelancer is seeking a highly skilled Senior Bioinformatics Scientist to join our team. As a Staff Scientist Bioinformatics, you will play a key role in driving the development of innovative genomics solutions used to support treatment decisions based on the cancers molecular profile, early detection, and monitoring of malignancies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with our experimental and bioinformatics teams to design and analyze experiments to support existing or new Illumina oncology assays.
- Develop and prototype algorithms for genomic biomarkers to meet novel molecular diagnostic needs.
- Provide technical guidance to internal and external collaborators.
- Participate in cross-functional assay and algorithm R&D teams with minimal oversight.
- Effectively communicate plans and results across functions.
Requirements:
- PhD in bioinformatics, computation biology, statistics, math, or a related field.
- Fluency in at least two of statistics, common bioinformatics methods, and NGS data analysis.
- Experience with developing bioinformatics NGS algorithms and methodology.
- Fluency in programming languages such as Python or C.
- Good communication skills to contribute to cross-functional project teams and work with stakeholders.
