Position Overview

We are excited to announce a unique opportunity for a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist to join our expanding Translational Medicine team at Autolus Limited. This role is pivotal in supporting the global growth of our innovative cell and gene therapy solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Data Integration and Management:

  • Oversee the amalgamation of Whole Exome Sequencing (WES), RNA sequencing (RNAseq), clinico-demographic, and biomarker datasets from clinical trials and research initiatives.
  • Design and execute robust pipelines and workflows for data processing and integration, ensuring the highest standards of data management and consistency.
  • Regularly maintain and enhance databases and data management tools, guaranteeing data accuracy, security, and adherence to regulatory requirements.

Bioinformatics Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough bioinformatics evaluations, including variant calling, copy number variation, differential expression analysis, pathway exploration, and biomarker identification within a clinical framework.
  • Employ statistical and computational methodologies to interpret multi-omics data, yielding significant medical and biological insights.
  • Develop and validate predictive models for patient outcomes related to CAR-T therapy based on integrated datasets.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Engage closely with interdisciplinary teams, including clinical, R&D, and biostatistics units, to fulfill data requirements and project goals.
  • Provide bioinformatics expertise and support to collaborators, ensuring effective data utilization and interpretation.
  • Collaborate with external partners and vendors as needed to enhance data integration and analytical capabilities.

Scientific Publications:

  • Lead the drafting of scientific manuscripts and reports derived from integrated data analyses.
  • Contribute to the writing, editing, and submission of scientific articles to prestigious journals.
  • Present research findings at scientific conferences and internal meetings to disseminate research outcomes and enhance understanding of CAR-T therapy.

Tool Development and Innovation:

  • Create custom scripts, tools, and software applications to facilitate data integration, analysis, and visualization.
  • Stay informed about the latest bioinformatics methodologies, technologies, and industry trends to foster innovation and enhance data integration processes.

Quality Control and Documentation:

  • Ensure rigorous quality control of bioinformatics analyses and results, adhering to best practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Thoroughly document all processes, analyses, and results, providing clear and detailed records for reproducibility and regulatory compliance.

Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of post-doctoral experience in bioinformatics, particularly in multi-omics data analysis within a clinical or translational research context.
  • Exceptional proficiency in statistical analysis and modeling, with a comprehensive understanding of advanced statistical concepts applicable to translational or clinical biology.
  • Extensive experience with next-generation sequencing data analysis, including WES and RNAseq.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry-standard bioinformatics tools, databases, and best practices.
  • Experience in implementing best practices for data management, version control, and reproducible research.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, or a related discipline.
