Compensation: Up to £35,000 per annum based on experience

Work Location: Saffron Walden, Essex

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a certified Part 145 Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) organization as a Mechanical Technician. This company specializes in innovative repair solutions for aircraft components and is equipped with a comprehensive range of C- ratings along with a CAA BCAR approved aerospace welding facility. They cater to a diverse clientele of aircraft operators, including major manufacturers.

The Mechanical Technician will report directly to the Mechanical, Seat, and Cargo Bay Team Leader. The primary responsibility of this role is to conduct mechanical testing, repairs, and overhauls of various aircraft components, thereby enhancing cost efficiency and delivering value to clients.

This is a permanent role with a standard work schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with opportunities for overtime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform testing, repairs, and overhauls on aircraft components.
  • Utilize diagnostic skills to effectively identify and resolve issues.
  • Conduct mechanical fault finding down to the component level.
  • Follow technical publications and guidelines.
  • Ensure all work complies with Part 145 regulations.
  • Refer to component manuals and diagrams as needed.
  • Adhere to all company standard operating procedures.
  • Follow health and safety protocols diligently.
  • Maintain workshop quality and cleanliness standards.
  • Ensure all work meets the company's quality assurance standards.
  • Complete all necessary administrative tasks and system inputs accurately.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess experience as a Mechanical Technician, preferably within the aviation or a related engineering sector. A solid understanding of technical publications and familiarity with commercial aerospace practices is essential.

A recognized engineering qualification such as BTEC, BNC, ONC, or HNC/HND is required. Proficiency in IT, particularly with Word and Excel, along with a willingness to learn industry-specific software (Aerotrac), is necessary.

The successful individual will be a collaborative team member, eager to learn, disciplined, detail-oriented, and a self-starter.
